Celebration Lady of the Sun which is located in the Catherdal of

Pietrasanta because the town was spared from bombig during the

Second World War and beyond

It is kept in the right Transept of the Cathedral in Pietrasanta

The image portrays the Madonna of humilty with the blessing child

On the sides we have San Giovanni Battista and San Giovanni Evangelista

and the background made by a cloth representing the coat of arms by

Municipality of Pietrasanta

The Story of the Lady of the Sun

The Lady of the Sun is produced because the Pope in the fourteenth

century Boniface VIII proclaims the iol jubilee

The event brings three hundred thousand pilgrims to Rome and Pietrasanta

close to the Aurelia it coincides with the Via Francigena

Pietrasanta becomes a refreshment point and therefore is built

this work dedicated to a votive figure

It is a Tempera on wood produced by anonymous

Veneration

Celebration Lady of the Sun and venereted even today thanks

to the prayers of the faithful from

Pietrasanta who resort to her for cases of plogue malaria floods

The 8th of September is celebrated and discovered because it

remains covered always for the rest of the year by a heavy

bronze blanket

comfort warmth light and a wish for clarity of flow in
